Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 14, 2026
1. What we collect
We collect the minimum needed to run the Service: the answers you provide in our Discover flow (role, city, salary band, lifestyle preference), basic analytics (pages viewed, referring source, approximate location from IP), your email address if you provide it (for example via the contact form, a newsletter signup, or to receive your results), and anything you voluntarily send us.
2. What we don't collect
We do not require an account to use the core product. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. We do not sell your personal data.
3. How we use your information
We use it to (a) generate your recommendations, (b) improve the Service, (c) measure aggregate usage, (d) respond when you contact us, and (e) send you emails from Moveup.guide — both transactional emails (such as contact form confirmations, results you asked us to email you, or account-related notices) and, if you opt in, promotional emails (such as our newsletter, new city guides, product updates, and occasional offers). Salary and other answers you provide in Discover are processed in your browser and used to scale your results; we do not store them against an identified user.
3a. Email communications
Transactional emails are sent in response to something you did (e.g., submitting the contact form or requesting your results) and are necessary to provide the Service. Promotional emails are only sent if you opt in, and every promotional email includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing from promotional email does not stop transactional email, which you may continue to receive as long as you use the Service.
4. Partners and affiliate links
When you click a partner link (apartments, jobs, insurance, real estate), the partner may set their own cookies and may share with us whether the click converted. We use this only to measure performance, not to identify you.
5. Cookies and analytics
We use first-party and limited third-party cookies for analytics and to remember your preferences. You can disable cookies in your browser; some features may not work as expected.
6. Data retention
Aggregate analytics may be retained indefinitely. Messages you send via the contact form are retained as long as needed to respond and for reasonable recordkeeping.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g., the EU/UK under GDPR, California under CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No system is perfectly secure; you use the Service at your own risk.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
